Phi Commerce Appoints Rajesh Londhe as CEO; Jose Thattil to Drive Global Strategy as Executive Chairman

Leadership evolution accelerates Phi Commerce’s transformation into a full-stack global Acquiring and Issuing platform

Mumbai, September 29, 2026: Digital payments fintech Phi Commerce today announced a leadership evolution as Rajesh Londhe, Co-founder and previously Head of Payments, steps up as CEO, while Jose Thattil will drive global strategy as Executive Chairman.

The move marks Phi Commerce’s entry into its next phase of growth – expanding from its India-founded payments business into a global, full-stack platform spanning acquiring and issuing across prepaid, credit and debit.

As CEO, Rajesh Londhe takes overall ownership of Phi Commerce’s global strategy and P&L, driving international expansion, enterprise technology and product innovation. He will lead the company’s push into new markets through local partnerships, building a globally scalable, financially disciplined organization.

“Phi Commerce is stepping into a far larger opportunity – moving from a payments business built in India to a full-stack Acquiring and Issuing platform built for the world,” said Rajesh Londhe. “My focus is building the organization, partnerships and enterprise-grade technology to scale Phi globally, while continuing to push the boundaries of commerce innovation.”

Phi Commerce’s global strategy rests on a clear four-part playbook: expand deliberately into high-growth markets beyond India, forge deep local partnerships that accelerate market entry, build enterprise-grade technology engineered for zero-downtime scale, and stay ahead through continuous innovation in next-generation commerce.

By unifying Acquiring and Issuing on a single platform, Phi Commerce is positioned to serve banks, processors and large enterprises with a more integrated stack – deepening its role across the payments value chain as it scales across geographies.

As Executive Chairman, Jose Thattil will drive the company’s long-term strategic direction – leading new-market strategy, investor relations and fundraising and global M&A, joint venture and consolidation opportunities.

“This is a defining inflection point for Phi Commerce,” said Jose Thattil, Executive Chairman, Phi Commerce. “We’ve built strong payments capabilities and now we’re taking a far broader platform to the world. I’ll be driving the strategic, capital and partnership moves that will accelerate Phi’s global ambitions as Executive Chairman while Rajesh’s step into the CEO sharpens our focus on scale and execution.”

Phi Commerce will continue investing in bank-grade reliability and zero-downtime infrastructure as it expands its acquiring, issuing and enterprise payment capabilities worldwide.
